“Hello.”

Award-winning Creative. Collaborator. Connector.

Communicator. Brand Strategist. Proud Papa.

I utilize the modern media toolkit to craft compelling narratives that resonate with audiences and build lasting, sticky brand connections. I’ve spent time in the trenches honing my craft and, luckily, I’ve learned a few tricks to amplify brand reach, tell great stories and drive measurable results. A native Memphian I’ve roamed this glorious country in hot pursuit of snowy peaks and beautiful vistas and now reside in the Lowcountry of Charleston, South Carolina. Most days you’ll find me puttering around in my garden or—when not working—golfing, biking and generally goofing off alongside my son, Wiley.

I cut my  teeth in trade journals before earning a masters
degree in Journalism from Ole Miss (
Hotty Toddy!). Upon graduation I moved west to Santa Fe, New Mexico where I landed in
Outside magazine's art department, a three-time
ASME National Magazine Award Winner for General Excellence. From there, I refined my craft at a number of national magazines redesigning brands and collecting experiences and awards in the TRAVEL, STYLE, FOOD and SPORTS categories before finally settling down in Charleston, SC in 2008 to help launch Garden & Gun magazine alongside the brilliant Editor-in-Chief, Sid Evens.

As founding art director the brand went on to amass much critical acclaim, along with a number of top honors, including
the
Society of Publication Designer's Brand of the Year and two
ASME National Magazine Awards for General Excellence—among many others. In August of 2024 I left my post at G&G, after a wonderful 16 year run, to freelance, consult and tinker on fresh innovative brands and projects. Though I'm still all in on BBQ.

Drop me a line and tell me your story.
